This year, we’re offering five farm-traceable honeys from five award-winning legacy producers, including the famed Finca El Injerto. Each small lot displays the distinct character of its surrounding terroir, and the same care each producing family has taken with their coffees.
Since 1957, we have cultivated coffee in the rugged highlands of Huehuetenango at our own farm, Finca Vista Hermosa. And over the past twenty years, we’ve represented neighboring producers to the global specialty coffee market. Having become the foremost Guatemala-focused Specialty coffee importer, we’ve built so many deep relationships and have brought smallholder farmers to the world stage. Complex but diverse, Guatemalan coffees are renowned for their characteristic sweetness, with big body, deeply fruited acidity and clarity.

Arturo Aguirre | El Injerto
Beloved the world over for exquisite single varietal lots, Finca El Injerto regularly wins international competitions. Receiving hundreds of visitors per year to admire the farm’s agricultural innovations, sustainability practices, social programs, and exquisite coffees. Four years ago, the farm began producing honey with the same wholistic approach that made them famous, and it has paid off. This exclusive and very limited Coffee Blossom Honey is complex and layered with plum and spices on the nose, an indulgent velvety mouthfeel, refreshing strawberries, and a delightful citric finish.
Jorge Mendez | El Apiario
Finca El Apiario was where it all started. While enjoying Jorge Mendez’ honey years ago, the idea of Coffee Blossom Honey was born. Jorge’s honey is big and round, with a brown sugary sweetness, peach and citrus, and slight vanilla undertones.
Otto Herrera | La Esperanza
Otto Herrera has been cultivating coffee at Finca La Esperanza for over half a century, and it shows. We’re honored to partner with Otto on his distinguished coffees, from Los Cedros to their coveted Caturra single variety lot. The Coffee Blossom Honey from Finca La Esperanza is layered and complex, citrusy and playful, light and floral.
Ana Ortega | Los Angeles
Ana Maria Ortega tragically lost her parents at the age of seventeen, and over the decades mastered farming through travail; first coffee, then the hives her father had kept. Finca Los Angeles is a lush homage to her father’s life work, and the leader she became through many challenges. Los Angeles honey tastes like fruit punch, cherry and orange, with a crisp body and lingering vanilla aftertaste.
Francisco Cardona | La Colmenita
Francisco Cardona Martin, known to friends as Chico Cardona, is one of our closest neighboring producer partners in Huehuetenango. His farm La Colmenita, or “The Beehive”, is just above our Finca Vista Hermosa. Each year his coffees are Onyx favorites, deeply fruited with sweetness for days. He’s been producing honey for twelve years and it is delightful: rich and silky, bright florals and ginger on the nose, with tropical fruits and citrus notes.
